Nomination process for Lehi Heritage Day honorees

Accepting honoree nominations now

The Lehi Historical Society will be accepting nominations for Lehi Heritage Day 2025 honorees through Apr. 15. Ideal nominees are those who have lived many years in Lehi, although not necessarily currently, and have done much to improve life in Lehi.

Past Honorees

Honorees will be celebrated at Lehi Heritage Day on Sept. 1, 2025, also Labor Day. They will be featured in a parade, an honoree program and meet and greet, in a newspaper article and finally with his/her name engraved in the Lehi Heritage Day Monument at the Walk of Fame Garden at the Legacy Center. “Friends, family and the public come to congratulate them,” said Lara Bangerter, director of the historical society. “It’s a great day!

As far as the nomination process goes, Bangerter said, “Make sure to seriously consider the questions of the nomination form. The better the information you supply, the more likely a person or couple will be chosen.” Members of the historical society consider the nominations and vote on the winners.

How honorees are celebrated, selected

More than 100 individuals have been honored

Every year since 2014, the Lehi Historical Society has honored a handful of Lehi. More than 100 individuals have been honored.

“It’s an honor to be chosen,” said Bangerter. “There are a lot of people who have done interesting and impressive things to make Lehi a better place. It’s not always easy to determine who we honor, but we love the opportunity to do it.”

John Knollin Haws, founder of the Lehi Historical Society, started Lehi Heritage Day with the goal of sharing Lehi’s past along with Lehi’s present-day history makers.
